God's Promises #2
"'Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace removed,' says the Lord, who has compassion on you." Isaiah 54:10
My favorite part of this verse, the promise, is "My unfailing love for you." If I had to narrow it down even further it would be the two word phrase 'unfailing love'. This is a promise that no one else can keep. A promise that His love for us will. never. fail.
It doesn't matter what you've done. It doesn't matter who you've become. All that matters is that His love never fails. It's a promise. A promise from the most loving, most caring, most compassionate Being you can imagine. If you're in a place where you feel like you don't deserve His love, you'd be right. If you're in a place where you feel like you can't earn His love, you'd be right.
Hear me: You already have His love and it is never going away. So stop running from it, stop trying to earn it, and stop trying to hide your face in shame from it. Accept it.
Accept it with all its forgiveness, all its mercy and all its rest.
The God who painted this sunrise on my drive this morning will always love you. No matter what.
